TRANS//LATION is Bentley's debut Japanese album released under the EMI Music Japan label. [2][3] Its sequel is the bilingual album, TRANS//LATION 2.
Album Information[]
Breaking down the barriers of the Eastern and Western music industries came the debut Japanese album from Bentley. Spawning the top 5 single "素直になれたら ～FINAL NIGHT～", later re-released as a remix single and even covered by a Japanese artist, this was the first time ever a British artist released a Japanese album on a major label.
On the day of TRANS//LATION's launch, Bentley was interviewed by "U-LA-LA"'s presenter, Shelly. In the interview, Jones states that "the whole concept of the album was to take the original track and turn it into its opposite. To take that to the extreme, to have a male artist cover a female original, that kinda takes it to its truest opposite." There is also a preview of the official music video of "素直になれたら ～FINAL NIGHT～" that premiered during the interview. Drawings from Jones were showcased right after the music video, giving the viewers an interpretation on what Jones wishes to do while he is in Japan. Jones ends the interview by thanking his fans for supporting him and hinting a possible return if the fans liked the album.
